Aamir Khan’s sports drama Sitaare Zameen Par has hit a rough patch at the box office. On its 18th day in theatres, the film witnessed a significant 81% drop in collections, earning just ₹1.19 crore on Monday, July 7, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
This marks a steep fall from its third Sunday earnings of ₹6.15 crore, pushing the ₹250 crore milestone further out of reach. Despite a strong opening and an impressive third weekend, the film is now losing momentum in theatres.
Domestic and Worldwide Earnings
Directed by RS Prasanna and produced under Aamir Khan Productions, Sitaare Zameen Par has earned ₹149.89 crore nett in India so far. The film’s total worldwide gross stands at ₹231.50 crore, which includes ₹53.75 crore from overseas markets.
No OTT Release Post Theatrical Run
In a strategic move, the filmmakers have confirmed that Sitaare Zameen Par will not be released on any OTT platform following its theatrical run.
About the Film
A spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen Par, the film is a Hindi adaptation of the 2018 Spanish film Champions. It stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh, along with a large ensemble cast including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Vedant Sharmaa, and others.
